LOL it is Orchid season.
Nudge is as good as a wink to a blind bat eh! brom are on order
Hey Dave hows that little Cephalotus looking? How about the others you left in pots?
they seem to be doing great i mounted one to the wall with straight live sphagnum, that one is throwing a new leaf the others are doing well as well like you said dropped a pitcher or 2 but they seem to be happy now
You have opinion on heliamorpha in terrariums? more specifically a dart tank lol?
Good to hear!
Heli's like night drops into the 50's, so don't think they're frog tank appropriate. If you weren't keeping frogs in it and could get temps that low at night they would do great. They also like much more light than your average vivarium plant. I grow mine roughly 6" from 6 HO T5's.
Perfect looks like yet another tank is being setup! wife should love that lol! Those are gorgeous!
haha good call Dave! They're fun plants and once you get the conditions down they grow quite fast. I should note that anything over 80F during the day is asking for trouble with Heliamphora. Lots of people use evaporative cooling to keep temperatures low during the day. When you decide to build a tank let me know, there is an awesome thread you should read through for some ideas.
Can you post that link, Drew? Always looking for ways to possibly run a cool/cold setup.
This is the one I was referencing, but there are tons of other good threads throughout the forum.
Here's another good one though that uses a deep freezer with coolant to cool the set up.
If you get through those and want some more Ill find another two that stick in my head as good designs. One uses a freezer itself as the grow space and had incorporated c02 into the design.
i am also interested in this thread ive always got tanks on the go lol! currently i am in the midst of 7 builds lol! whya not make 8
That is going to be like a zoo exhibit
im just hoping it turns out half as good as im picturing it lol! kinda like a private zoo exhibit for only a select few to see, especially since my family stays out of my reptile room
