I started up a new viv, I bought organic wood pieces from big Als (grape vine). I’ve only had the wood in there for three weeks; it’s getting white mold on it. What can I do to get rid of it? Would a clean up crew help? I’d like to fix this issue before I put frogs in the viv. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Clean up crew will help control certain mold, but this is a normal part of the cycle. There is a mold period with new wood. Expect this to clear in a week or two usually. Grape wood I find tends to have a larger amount of mold and a longer mold period during this cycle. Also, grape wood tends to rot quicker than other woods such as Malaysian driftwood.

Definitely normal! You can spray it down with water to get rid of it very temporarily if the look bothers you :)
