I've been unwell (posted under the important information section or what have you).

I don't know where they came from, they were tracked down for me and all i was told when asked is that they came from a "wholesaler". Hopefully will be able to snap some photos this weekend, they're gaining weight nicely.
    Thanks
    Sib ;)

Had a chance to snap some new shots today. They've started to put on some good weight, nice to see. Not as skittish as i expected. When i open the snap lid to feed them, they come into the middle to get some chow. Still can't get a good shot of the one with colour on his leg though :(
    Thanks
    Sib ;)

Sorry for the late reply Syb but really nice frogs you have there... Galacts are quite rare in Canada. I don't know why though. They are great frogs

I wonder why. People should be proud of what they keep. If it's illegal, well shame on them but if it was legally obtained, why not mention it.

In my head, people in this hobby are all move by the conservation/preservation aspect. Having information about what is "available" in Canada would help everyone concentrate on declining species.

This is why I've been working hard, but seem not hard enough, to make this Canadian registry.

This is what overwrote Afterdark's post...

Some people have the "look what i have and you don't" approach to things (not always the case but sometimes).

I'm hopeing to have atleast a pair or 2 in the group of 6, get them breeding and then get those babies out accross canada. I hope to see things more commonly available.

I'm hoping to start working on a tank for them soon (I'm feeling better everyday). I have a 24" long by 18x 18" exo for them. Anyone with galacs have any suggestions? so far I've noticed they like the water and to sleep under big leaves, but more insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sib ;)

And another update! Things are looking up, they are all filling out now including the runt. i'm very impressed with the outgoing nature, they are as outgoing as tincts i'd say which is a far cry from the ubber shy nature people warned me about ;) length wise theyre in the 3-4cm range. I don't expect they'll reach that 5-6 range pete. Here's the pictures!

Let's see a group photo or two! I'm especially interested in the variability in this species.

just finished cleaning their tub, heres the pics while they were out:

I croppped away the extra, but if you click on the photos they should still be a decent size. The yellows are more uniform then the other galacs, but there are 2 shades of yellow in my group, though they're not too far apart.

    Syble,

very nice additions, very nice. I also like your choice of 6 as it should ensure a couple pairs.
I will stand by my size as I have 2 over the 5CM mark already. Mine are shy :(
so I will try and get some pics.

She was actually very good about this all although she refused the 1st cm lol. Probably the biggest one i have not quite sure where to start the measure and stop but shes all of 3cm right now, maybe a bit more. best guess is they are around 6 months old right now? When i got them back in december they were supposed to be about 4 months old. so if they're 3cm at 6months then i suppose its not out of the relm to gain 2 more cm before they finish.

Do you know what yellow form you have? I'm almost certain I have the lemon yellow form, they aren't shy at all yet, maybe they will be different once in their tank. I look forward to your pics.

I picked up all 6 just so i had better chance of getting a pair or two (3 ideally lol). I had no idea if i'd ever come accross them again, or if anyone would have mates available if need be.
    Thanks
    Sib ;)

Is that one top frog in the first picture the only one with some yellow on one of its legs? Kinda cool

    These guy's look fantastic Syble.
The colour consistency within this group is incredible.
I'm digging the bright yellow big time. They look like little lemons.
