    Hi

We've done a ton of research!! After we get these next 3 done we need to take a break. We hope to have the frog room done in about 12 months. That could turn into 18 though. Laura's always loved frogs. I found this kind of funny :-S She got a white's for x-mas and now, well WOW. I love nature as well as Laura. It's like having a piece of nature in your own home :) When they say "welcome to the addiction" they mean it!

    Hi Glenn & Laura,

o_O Honestly, your viv looks GREAT!!! I'm really impressed at how well your background has come out and I can't wait to see it planted! How long did it take you to do all that silicone/coco fiber?

    Cheers,

    FOREVER

It probably took 6 hours to do the silicone.cocofiber. I can only do so much at a time. We have 2 more the same size all foamed up and ready to go.

    Hey Mike

Where can we but some Epi-web? :)|

    Really :)

We had no idea they sold it. We've been looking for it everywhere. We like the look of the GS/silicone method but we're certainly not going to do every viv this way.

    Thanks snapple :)

Do you still have the tube kicking around? It's possible the silicone was past it's expiry date and will not set now, even if you just bought it.

I read horror stories on DB about silicone not drying. I checked all the dates before using it and when I was done I put the tube aside and checked to make sure it cured properly. All was good. There is still a slight odor if you put your nose up to it and I don't think I would want to put frogs into it. It's hard but still has an odor if up close. I've had it outside in the sun for two days? It didn't change the odor?? By the way it was GE II. I used it on 3 other vivs with no problem. :-/

Is there anything different about the way you did this tank? Set up? Thickness of the silicone or coco fiber on top of it? Leaving the doors closed while it's been curing? Had it in a more humid, colder, or less well ventilated room?

Everything was done exactly the same. I can't smell it on the back which was done earlier. The sides still smell and the silicone all came from the same case?? I'm going to put a space heater in front of it todat to see what happens. :-/

Great looking tank you guys! Nice work! Btw...the miniature orchids is an awesome idea and will definitely look great in your tank...just beware that once you start with them, you will become addicted! ;)
