Coco Husk vs Peat Moss

    Jan made a good point about the coir being potentially moist. I found that was an issue when I first started, the coir was still a bit damp from expanding. This caused it to not adhere well to the silicone.
    I waited a week or so for the coir I was using to dry out completely, and I had much better results. Just a thought...

    This is an interesting thread for me because I'm right at this stage with my build at present. I just bought a bag of Reptisoil to cover the background. I will be using this silicone specially ordered from Home Hardware https://www.homehardware.ca/en/rec/...67n/Ntk-All_EN/R-I2031188?Ntt=black++silicone It is food-quality animal safe and I've used it in the construction of the waterfall feature in the Vivarium. Just bought powder free Nitryl gloves plus a couple of Dollar store silicon basting brushes for the messy job to come.
