    Hello All,

Starting to plan the successor to the Benedictopia office display. This office will be larger, with a larger display, some secondary display tanks, and a few breeder tanks. I will be going through the design process, revisions, and build in this thread. Expect some changes to this, but this is the plan for now:
    • One Primary display - 60"(w) x 72"(d) x 54"(h) = approx. 1000 gal
    • Three Secondary displays - 48"(w) x 30"(d) x 54"(h) = approx. 335 gal
    • Eight Breeder Tanks - 30"(w) x 24"(d) x 30"(h) = approx. 90 gal
Total of over 2,700 gallons of tanks. I will be concentrating on only a few species and as you all know, I prefer to house my frogs in larger tanks - even for breeders.

***Disclaimer: Although larger tanks do offer frogs more space and can look more impressive, they do require more attention. Frogs must be monitored closely and frequently in large enclosures. Health issues with frogs are more likely to go unnoticed in larger displays. In addition, feeding / supplementation issues may arise if not extremely careful (insufficient feeding for the size, insects cleaning off vitamins before frogs can get to them, etc).

What was Benedictopia? The last pic I have of the full tank:

I am currently waiting for basement radon test results to come back... just making sure so I don't have to destroy anything again.

    Don't expect quick progress LOL.

Although I hope to do a better job this time with the build (better finishes, better woodwork / cabinetry, etc). Benedictopia was a bit rushed (even though it took almost a year) as I has a new baby at the time and had to find a place to put all my frogs. This time I will take my time, make sure everything is more polished and better planned.

For sure once things get going I will be looking for dwarf phalaenopsis and other miniatures! Thanks!

Would be curious to see your miniature orchid list / prices.

Haha thanks. I work from home and ince the office will be in the basement, I figured - "What the hell... I need somehting niice to look at since I don't have decent windows." (that is my reasoning and I am sticking to it)

So... I got my radon test back.... 107 Bq/m³ (at my last house was only 24 Bq/m³). As a result I will have to go do the full 6 month to 12 month test starting in the fall... BOOOOOO. Guess better safe than sorry.

As a result my plan is to propagate plants until I can get that worked out. I will include that in this as it technically is a part of the build. Due to the large volume of living space, I will need to propagate a tonne of plants anyway.

How does one solve a Radon problem?
What are the effects on the frogs?
can you seal the basement... I am ignorant to this problem although I have heard some people getting Radon in their basement if they have to blast rock/ Canadian Shield
